J&J Unit Recalls Batches Of Cancer Drug Velcade In Europe, Japan

Johnson & Johnson (JNJ) has recalled more than 200,000 vials of cancer drug Velcade in Europe, Japan and Malaysia due to reports of visible particles in the drug that were caused by the manufacturing process. The U.K. Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency issued a notice Thursday saying J&J’s Janssen-Cilag unit was recalling all remaining stock of six batches of the drug as a precaution, following five reports of the particles. The batches were distributed between January and June.
