Memo suggests DePuy knew of hip replacement cancer risks

The British Broadcasting Company alleges that a DePuy memo found in an investigation reveals that device maker DePuy Orthopaedics knew that its metal-on-metal hip replacements could shed carcinogenic materials. The BBC and the British Medical Journal (BMJ) led the investigation after discovering patients with devices such as the DePuy ASR could have an increased risk of toxic levels of metal in the blood stream.
