Antipsychotic Drugs During Pregnancy Linked to Motor Delays

Babies whose pregnant mothers took antipsychotic medications have significantly lower than normal scores on standard tests of movement, posture and reflexes, according to researchers at Emory University, Atlanta. Antipsychotic drugs are commonly used to treat schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, and are increasingly being used to treat more common mental disorders, such as depression.

    I was on Seroquel 200 mg for insomnia during my whole pregnancy and now my 20 month old had developmental delays and multiple early signs of autism. We have no family history and I did everything right in the pregnancy except for the fact that I was given poison by my doctor. I’m sure the med was a contributing factor to my sons problems and I will never forgive myself!
