Yaz and Yasmin settlements total surpasses $140 million

Drug manufacturer Bayer AG announced in a stockholder’s newsletter that it has paid $142 million to settle Yaz and Yasmin lawsuits filed against the company. The German company settled over 500 lawsuits alleging that the two birth control pills caused severe injuries to patients, including blood clots and pulmonary embolism.

    I know children and young women using this here in Canada…why hasn’t there been a more vocal alarm on this? I only happened to hear from a woman who sat beside me as my eldest convocated, along with her’s that there was a problem with this birth control. She mentioned that one of her children had a gall bladder removed due to this…because of her comment I went digging on the internet. But if I hadn’t, I would not have known and this is the same for many other young women. What is the reason for such a gag on this?
