Transvaginal mesh still being used despite risks

Transvaginal mesh and other surgical mesh used to prevent organ perforation and pelvic organ prolapse are still being used in patients, despite warnings and known risks of severe complications. Health organizations around the world, including the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), have warned against the mesh devices, which have caused death in some cases.
