U.S. Won’t Pursue Allegations Against Abbott CEO in Depakote Case

The U.S. Justice Department has declined to intervene in civil allegations that Abbott Laboratories (ABT) Chief Executive Miles D. White engaged in “unlawful conduct” and benefited financially from the company’s improper promotion of the antiseizure drug Depakote. The accusations were made by a former Abbott employee in a lawsuit filed two years ago but were made public for the first time Wednesday.
