Metal-on-metal hips could cause cysts on the hip flexor muscles

A new study shows that metal-on-metal hip implants such as the DePuy ASR hip replacement could cause painful cysts on the hip flexor muscles, called bursal cysts. The study, published in the December 2012 issue of Orthopedics, detailed the condition and found that the cysts could lead to severe vascular compressive symptoms.
