Bayer sued over risks associated with contraceptive Mirena

Bayer Pharmaceuticals is being sued over alleged risks associated with Mirena, its intrauterine contraceptive device (IUD). The device is approved to prevent pregnancy for up to 5 years, but the company failed to disclose alleged risks associated with the birth control, including the possibility of the device becoming embedded in the body and caused ectopic pregnancies.
