C.R. Bard ordered to pay $2 million in transvaginal mesh lawsuit

Jurors in one of the first transvaginal mesh lawsuits ordered C.R. Bard to pay $2 million to Donna Cisson, who suffered injuries from the company’s Avaulta transvaginal mesh device. Jurors in Charleston, West Virginia found C.R. Bard liable for her transvaginal mesh injuries after deliberating for about 12 hours over two days. The jury awarded $250,000 in compensatory damages for Cisson’s injuries plus $1.75 million in punitive damages.
