New SSRI antidepressant is similar to Zoloft

A new selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor antidepressant (SSRI) has been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The drug, “Brintellix,” has been called a “novel” drug in that it is nearly identical in effect to other SSRI antidepressants, including Zoloft.
