Delaware man files wrongful death testosterone lawsuit

A Delaware man has filed a wrongful death testosterone lawsuit on behalf of his father, who suffered a heart attack while using testosterone boosters Axiron and AndroGel. The victim was 58 years old with no history of heart problems when he suffered a heart attack and died.

Pfizer Agrees to $325 Million Neurontin Marketing Accord

Pfizer Inc. (PFE) agreed to pay $325 million to settle a lawsuit brought by health-care benefit providers who claimed the drugmaker marketed the epilepsy drug Neurontin for unapproved uses. The settlement, which needs approval from a federal judge in Boston, would end a case over claims that the company’s Parke-Davis unit schemed to market the drug for unapproved conditions as early as 1994.

Stryker lawsuits mount against hip manufacturer

Stryker Corporation is facing an increasing number of hip replacement lawsuits alleging that the company’s implants were defective and caused injuries. More than 500 Stryker lawsuits allege that the metal components of the Rejuvenate and ABG II modular hip replacements can lead to corrosion, fretting and other severe complications.

Testosterone Lawsuits Consolidated in Chicago

Abbott Laboratories (ABT) and AbbVie Inc. will face lawsuits combined in one Chicago court over claims they hid the risks of using the testosterone booster drug AndroGel. Abbott and AbbVie are both based in the Chicago area and “a significant number” of AndroGel lawsuits already are pending before U.S. District Judge Matthew Kennelly there, according to a panel of judges.

Stryker hip replacement lawsuit deadline approaching

Patients who were injured by their Stryker metal-on-metal hip replacement likely have until July 2014 to file a lawsuit against the manufacturers. The statute of limitations, or deadline for when patients have file claims, for most Stryker hip implant lawsuits is two years. Stryker Corporation issued a Stryker recall on July 6, 2012.

Man files testosterone booster lawsuit against manufacturer

A Colorado man is suing the makers of AndroGel after he suffered a heart attack while using the testosterone booster, according to CBS news. Stephen Nichols’ lawsuit joins others filed in Illinois and Louisiana, also claiming that drugs prescribed to treat low testosterone, or Low T, caused heart attacks.

$650M Settlement Reached Over Blood Thinner

German drugmaker Boehringer Ingelheim said Wednesday it has agreed to pay $650 million to settle thousands of U.S. claims questioning the marketing and safety of its popular blood thinner Pradaxa. The company said the settlement, filed in federal court in East St. Louis, resolves roughly 4,000 claims, paying out an average of $162,500 per case.
